... After long months at sea braving storm-tossed, shark-infested waters - confined as a prisoner on a slave galley, bravely enduring primitive surroundings and extremes of heat, salt air (bad for paint), no water (and oil) or other life-sustaining nutrition (chassis lube) - TROOPY emerges victorious, driving triumphantly on the “Via Antichi” of Sicily where conquering Greeks, Romans, Normans, Goths, Moors and the immortal British General Montgomery have proudly paraded their armies through its narrow Baroque streets, TROOPY now trods, head (bonnet?) held high, deeply breathing the intoxicating scent of freedom (for now...) and anxiously awaiting his new explorations through the eternal lands of ancient Mediterranean tribesmen...
Well, at least we made it through Italian Customs! As soon as we get home and settled we’ll start again building Troopy into our ultimate, classic expedition vehicle. Please check the website regularly for progress reports and photos!
Buona Giornata and Ciao for Now...
