We have big news sports fans: Troopy’s long awaited international adventure is about to begin... We’re moving to Sicily! Our job is bringing us back to where our son Matt was born near Catania on the southeastern side of the island. Troopy is going to be containerized in a 40’ Hi-Cube along with our FJ Cruiser and shipped over in late June. The trip will take him about a month from here in Alaska. We’ll update our Travel Photos and Blog with details on shipping and our selected shipper (still TBD).
We’ll be exploring the fascinating island and culture of Sicily, meeting our Sicilian family, learning some Italian, then touring southern Italy and Tunisia. We’ll recommend places to visit, tourist traps to stay away from, campsites, beaches and places to stay. Oh, and recommendations on the food too!
We’re going to be very busy getting Troopy ready to go in the next few weeks by installing all his expedition equipment and getting a few last minute mechanicals done. I’ll be updating the site continually with progress and lots of photos. Check back often for updates!
