Alaskan Vanilla Sky - 1/2/2011

A rare treat for the New Year today (by the way, Happy New Year!), we have a “Chinook” coming in...  A Chinook is a front coming in from the south that brings warmer temps - up into the 30s F or higher - a rare event in the Alaskan Interior for the winter.  Our current temp this afternoon is exactly +30F on the back deck (60 degrees warmer than a week ago) and we’re enjoying a dramatic sky show.  I just finished wrenching on Troopy for a few hours and stepped out to see the southern storm moving in with a sunset happening at the same time.  I thought I’d share it with all our friends around the world.  The colors reminded me of vanilla and “Orangecicle” ice cream.

May your travels be fun and may you find health and happiness during the coming year...  We’ll keep you updated on our travels and Troopy’s upgrades - there will be many!

Until Next Time...
